I returned to Tetsujin prepared to wait for thirty minutes having had a late lunch but the line wasn’t as lengthy as my first visit. I guess the novelty had worn off but for me I still really enjoy this place. Its a very well located central sushi train and I honestly just love the concept of a train bringing you plates of food and Ive never met one I didnt like.
I adored the look of the cocktails in whole watermelons or pineapples but as it was just me and one other friend we abstained on this occasion. Having tried a variety of the dishes I can wholeheartedly say the aburi salmon is my fave. I can honestly just eat eight plates of this and go home delighted. I only wish they would run an all you can eat session but I guess they are too popular to bother

When this place first opened I couldn’t wait to get there given the sushi train in nearby Melbourne Central had closed. Off we went on a Friday night and arrived at 8.30. Big mistake. Huge. At this point we were already starving and we had to wait around 50 minutes to be seated.
I sat there in line willing people to eat faster and leave, my heart sinking every time I saw someone order another drink. Well finally it was our turn and I immediately started typing furiously into the menu screen ordering up plates and plates of sushi and delicious watermelon and mango juices.
Note Tetsujin is a sushi train but also has a Japanese bbq option in the back section. I really enjoyed my experience and I am happy to wait when it’s good. Definitely my favourite sushi train Melbourne
Tetsujin is my favourite restaurant in Melbourne, hands down.
Just love it, friendly service, delicious sushi, fast sushi train with so many options and the iPad ordering system is so convenient.
