K: After uni, most are feeling the same way. Tired, restless and more importantly hungry! Conveniently located at Flinders Street station, tower sushi is a small pocket of a restaurant serving some delicious, affordable and fresh sushi. With good packets and bundles, today I opted for 3 salmon sushi rolls.
The salmon tasted very very good. A nice tender taste that was ripe with flavour and slither. The avocado was also very fresh, with the rice and seaweed blending it together well. Definitely a better sushi roll than other outlets similar in nature due to the emphasis on freshness.
Very happy with these hand rolls and would recommend if you are at the station and need a quick sushi feed!
Food: 3.5/5
Service: 3/5
Value: 3/5
Overall: 3/5
Tried some of the sushi, including the salmon and avocado. While it came in a decent serving, the taste was bland. We also got the fried dumplings which were over cooked and hard.
Wondering if the rice is just local and not Japanese rice.. food was bland, also, not really fond of the service. They wont give you red ginger, wasabi and chopsticks unless you asked. However during odering theres this guy who rushed us out by saying ‘anything else?’ Tremendous times. Once we forgot to ask for the chopstick he gave us a mad face by saying ‘i’ve asked anything else’. Seriously?? We reveived a very bad treatment for asking a chopstick for SUSHI. With such service and taste id rather have my pennies go to the neighboring sushi stall around; much better taste, better service.
Edited: just read other negative reviews and most said it’s the poor service. Wow. Guess its been going long with no improvement!
Good for a quick bite but the hot food had been exposed and cooked for so long, much like 711 pies. I’ve been to their other branch where they cook up hot food from the menu, which I prefer to get.
