Been going here at least once a year to eat there wagyu and abalone hotpot. Never fails very good flavour and the broth is crazy good. Price is expensive so if your heading down to get this dish ask for price first.
Westlake is a bit of an institution in Chinatown as it’s been around for decades. Very little has changed over the years.
Expect the possibility of being crammed into tight spaces with trolleys whizzing by frequently. Service is usually hurried but efficient. The quality of their yum cha items is reasonable and is on par with most other places.
The star of today’s show though was the green tea taro bun. This had a buttery, crispy green tea topping, encasing a rich taro filled soft bun. The crowning sesame seeds not only made it look good, but added a hint of nuttiness to the entire package.
For a quick yum cha fix, Westlake is not a bad option.
Great little yum cha place, my sister and I dined here recently before going to the theatre. So delicious and service was wonderful! Well be back soon!
