Yang 89 stands out from the crowd. Unlike ordinary Korean barbecue restaurants, these guys specialise in lamb dishes. The lamb here is excellent, courtesy of having been wet-aged for an optimum period of 89 hours. You can expect all their meat to be sourced locally so you can expect everything to taste exceedingly fresh.
Yang 89 was such a pleasant and unique dining experience. With meat skewers that rotate on their own above a mini charcoal pit, it certainly added to the fun of it all!We were invited to try out some of their food. The menu was very clear and easy to navigate. We ordered a range of meat skewers, the lamb french rack and a few main dishes. The meat skewers were great value. The charcoal added flavour to the meats, some of which were marinated for more than 89 hours (hence the name of the restaurant – so clever!). The meats were fresh and tasty. A shout out to the delectable lamb french rack. The twice cooked lamb was delicious and surprisingly the morning glory (main dish) was fantastic – fresh and crunchy with a hint of chilli. The sauce was addictive and perfect with rice. Service was efficient. With winter just around the corner, Yang 89 will be the perfect place for a heartwarming meal.
I was invited for a dining experience at yang 89. Before my visit i was never really into lamb of any sort, but the meat at yang89 was so delicious ( lamb french rack was my favourite) it has changed my opinion on lamb!!The automatic bbq rotation table was great fun to watch 🙂 I love the large variety of shoju available and the lychee shoju was delicious perfect for sweet tooth :PYang 89 is definitely on my list of recommended restaurant for my fellow foodies 🙂 you wont be disappointed 🙂
Yang 89 has fused Chinese cumin lamb with Korean bbq and they definitely nailed it. The lamb skewers are grilled om your table witb automatic spinning mechanism. They have a couple sauces you can dip the meat in, I personally prefer the spicy cumin with a bit of salt. The quality of the wet-aged lamb is just wow. We also had the french lamb racks, which waiter grilled for us. It was crispy on the outside, medium rare on the inside, which was perfect.
