Twas a hot day and myself, mum & and fianc had been out all day , hadn’t had a chance to have lunch. It was roughly 3pm and the restaurant was pretty much empty. We decided to order just a sharing platter & pizza, and drinks to cool down. When the waitress came to take our order she said we needed to order one dish per head otherwise she wasn’t sure whether we would be able to eat there. After checking with management she returned saying that we were able to order only because it wasn’t busy, any other time we would have had to order at least one dish each. I found this quite rude to be honest. The place has a vast seating area so responses of this kind could be avoided I think.
The food was average. Pizza very oily. Share platter was nice, only flaw were the meatballs. I couldn’t see the meat, too much breadcrumb perhaps???
I loved the outdoor area. Very tidy and well layed out.
If I would return? Probably not.

Really nice vibe and relaxed atmosphere and the staff are super attentive and accomodating. Make sure you’re hungry when you come here because the food is delish and the portion sizes are huuuuuge…
Great place to eat, steak is sensational and the desserts, if you have room left !!!! Are awesome
Atmosphere is great and staff very helpful, only down fall it can get a little noisey at times
Very good steak and lamb , also have good atmosphere for having food, but it’s not enough entree to choose. I’ve been here many times, and I would like to bring friends in the future.
The customer service was lovely, very easy to talk to them and attend to you quite promptly. The atmoshpere is calm and inviting and the meals were satisfaction. Sadly unless youre a person that can eat lot, there is a lot of wastage and you cant get it takeaway because of their restaurant policy.
Stone is synonymous with fine dining in Melton. Many people would scoff at that statement, saying being the top restaurant in Melton doesnt add up to much. But having never been big on class war, I happily challenge any establishment to offer better food or service and package it all in the warm and welcoming dining room on offer at Stone. Every dish is quality but I recommend new visitors order the entree sampler. With bits of everything, the squid is divine and the eggplant fries are always great.
Main meals that push things to the next level include BBQ pork ribs, Pork Belly and the Seafood Platter for two that is easily the equal of any waterfront eatery in Melbourne.
Dessert again raises the bar, with Death by Chocolate turning every head in the restaurant as it makes its way to your table, but Sticky Date pudding is really a staple of most Australian diets and here you will find Stone do it better than most.
With the owner/manager a regular fixture leading his team by example, the most pleasant surprise was a mid-meal tour by the chef to enquire after our meals and provide an opportunity to learn about how, where and why meals are prepared and served.
Excellent in every way, add Stone to your list of places to dine and you wont be dissappointed!
Always a great meal at Stones. You can never go wrong. The quality of staff training seems to be slipping as they aren’t as professional as they used to be.
