Been here so many times. ……. this place is a Mentone icon for me. I remember coming here when I was a young kid. It was a treat. The cakes were delicious then and they still are absolutely delicious today.
My favourite is the neenish tarts. Just so light fluffy and amazingly delicious. Sausage rolls are superb. A real old bakery from years ago standing strong.
It is somewhat expensive so only go there for a treat. …..it is worth it.

I had a sausage roll which was ok, a bit bland but I had a plain pie for $5 (not cheap) but it was full of mince and really tasty. I’d definitely go back for one of those or maybe a cake hahaha
This shop has been here for over 40 years. They have good quality cakes, sweets, pastries and pies. They make special occasion cakes to order. They are expensive. The mushroom pie is a favorite and the gravy is mixed with a bechamel sauce which makes ut extra tasty but very rich. The mushroom pieces are generous unlike some pies where you wonder if there are any mushrooms in there at all. Not a place to visit too often if you are watching your weight or cholesterol!!
