Fabulous dining experience here. The staff were very warm and friendly and really made the evening feel special. The meals were delicious and the view of the vineyard was stunning. Everything about this experience was thoroughly enjoyable (which was completely expected given how beautiful the attached accommodation is!) 100% recommend this place to anyone staying or passing through the area.
We came here for a mid week holiday and really enjoyed it. The steak was cooked perfectly the staff were friendly and helpfull. The dessert was my favorite the doughnuts with passionfruit curd. Everything was s fresh. Even the crossiants at breakfast tasted like homemade flakey pastry and soft inside. We will come back again
The food was exceptional! We had dinner here, I had the chicken and my husband had the steak. We enjoyed both. We also had dessert and loved those to. It is s little pricey but it’s a case of you get what you pay for. Defiantly a fine dining experience! We also had breakfast as we stayed at the hotel. It was the best breakfast we have had at the hotel. Low in selection but it makes up for it in quality. Great bacon, which is where other hotels usually get it wrong! Overall great experience and worth every cent!
Great location for a restaurant but the food needs to improve.. Ate at Merlot as we were staying there during a holiday and must say they have a very nice dining room with a great view. The wine list was great as well. However the food was extremely overpriced and the dishes on the menu were overly complex verging on pretentious which would have been fine if the chefs had of pulled them off, which they didn’t. The meat in both our meals was overcooked and the meal cost around $200. Need to improve food or lower prices.
Cosy and Fantastic Food. I came here for New Years with my family and we just loved Restaurant Merlot. Everything about this restaurant was just fantastic as was the room service we ordered the following night.We had on New Years the duck, which was a great portion with blue cheese croquettes, the eye fillet which was one of the best steaks we have ever had! I also had the polenta and mushrooms/spinach and baby vegetables and it was a lovely selection of ingredients. The blue cheese croquettes are one of the best things we have ever eaten!The drinks were flowing and I loved the Prosecco and the spirits were a great pour ad great value. We also had breakfast here twice and each morning was an absolute delight. A real proper country breakfast with all the trimmings and healthier versions available as well.Whenever we are on holidays again we can’t wait to come back!!
