Came for a wine tasting and it was fantastic! Tash was friendly, helpful and had excellent knowledge of their range. If I was rating the tasting experience alone it would be 5*. Then had lunch in the restaurant which was just ok. I had the kangaroo loin with sweet potato mash and garlic spinach. The spinach was the best thing on the plate, but the mash was a runny consistency and the roo was over cooked. I asked for rare but it was served medium and so was a little chewier than I would have liked. The gnocchi were giant, too big for one mouthful and a little on the gluey side. Seafood pie was disappointing, a bit too salty and the seafood was chopped a bit small. Surf and turf special was nice.Would return for the tasting but probably not for lunch considering what the bill came too.
Gorgeous winery just 15mins outside of Mildura. The restaurant is just by the river and the views from the outside seating are beautiful. The staff were extremely friendly and the estate has a great range of wines to taste. We sat by the river with two of their platters and a glass of wine and it was the perfect way to spend an afternoon.
Trentham Estate is a family owned establishment set right on the banks of the Murray River at Trentham Cliffs. In the cosy cellar door, Trentham offers tastings and sales of its vast wine range with something to please all tastes – classic, rounded styles right through to award-winning alternative varieties.
A visit to the cellar door is always a good idea, time permitting, prior to lunch at a winery. Today we have fifteen minutes to spare and it’s not too busy. The cellar door at Trentham Estate Winery overlooks the Murray River on the NSW side. It’s a novelty for me that our impending lunch is in NSW and dinner is in Victoria.
Amazing! We were also there for lunch on May 13 and couldn’t disagree more with previous review. The restaurant and waitresses were busy but we still had service with a smile and found the prices very reasonable. Last but not least our meals were magnificent and topped off by absolutely superb desserts. Would highly recommend a visit.
