Fantastic Chinese/Malaysian restaurant in the area. Easy to get a table and the service is fast. Food is awesome. Only issue is they don’t delivery. However, based on the amount of phone orders for pick up I can understand why. Highly recommended.
The food was ok but quite quite bland. I had chicken with cashews and vegetables. The vegetables were quite nice, but the chicken had nothing to it and the cashews were added at the last minute so their taste didn’t blend with the rest. I probably will never return.
My family regularly come to this restaurant. We love it. It can be patchy service-wise if they’re super busy or on a Sunday lunch when they are short-staffed, but they are really friendly and accommodating and work hard to give good quality and good valued Chinese/Malaysian dishes. The roti is to die for. Oily of course, but if you pair it which the Cantonese steak it’s just simply amazing. The satay beef entree is my personal favourite. I always order it. It’s a bit dry but still somehow moist. I know that sounds weird to write, but it’s like the outside is crispy and the inside is perfect. Their satay sauce is my favourite in the northern suburbs. The combination noodles are great value. Sometimes we get the same dish but with crispy noodles a la chow mein. Both variations are awesome. The homemade dim sims are a good size. The fried wontons are really nice. The sesame prawn dishes are great. The waitresses are very friendly. The decor is both homely and spartan, but I like it myself. The parking can be tricky on a Friday or Saturday night, but really it’s our favourite Chinese restaurant in the north – right up there with Golden Dragon in Lalor. 🙂
The Swine thinks Kawanka is a very good Malaysian food pit stop out North in the burbs. The food presinct here is surpringly decent hub if you are a local. The Swine loved the satay dishes at Kawanku. The Swine will be working through the menu. It’s a big room so youd be unlucky to wait long. Not bad at all.
I would have scored higher as the food was quite nice but when I ordered my beef and rice noodles, I asked if it had vegetables and she said yes. When it arrived it only had bean shoots in it. Thats a vegetable not vegetables. My husband ordered a mee goreng and asked for it not too spicy. Oh my. It was so hot! The dim sim were over cooked and mushy. We have been here a few times before and enjoyed what we have had. It’s just a matter of communications today.
Best char hor fun ,KL hokkien noodles, and fish head soup noodles in mill park ! Honest and authentic. Owners are very friendly as well. Price is reasonable.
