Nice relaxed feel in a quiet shopping strip. Outdoor tables get morning sun. Cafe was very quiet when I visited. Staff were attentive and service quick and friendly. Coffee was good if overpriced. Freshly baked pastries would be a good addition to the menu as nothing on display appeared to have been baked today.

I went this place a few times. Nice atmosphere and kid friendly. Inside is cosy but there is a outside area which is quite nice in the summer. I had lamb tikka masala I think it was a special. It was nice. I should go back again soon.

A Great place to have lunch or breakfast. The service can be slow at times. The coffee isn’t the best in Melbourne and a little bit overpriced. The pulled pork burger is delicious however I feel the sauce that The pulled pork was cooked in was too sweet. It Felt like they had use too much sugar. The nachos were okay. It got soggy way too quickly. The chickenburger was fantastic and so was the fried chicken tenderloins.

This place has great food and coffee they just need to work on their customer service. It’s not bad but they could just be more friendly. Say hi we’ll be with you. Great to see you again. Can i get you xyz etc. That would easily take this place from a 4 to a 5.

The trouble with going out to lunch with a bunch of friends is that the food, while important does play second fiddle to the conversation. Thus, a rare, short and sweet review from me.

Gorgeous smiles and a genuine welcome from staff. Neat little four page booklet menu, including a small selection of tipples.

Everyone at the table seemed to enjoy their choices, a Pumpkin Bruschetta was polished off, a baked bean dish was given a thumbs up. Two of us chose the Caesar Salad – with the optional chicken. Overall I enjoyed the salad, the leaves were crisp, the flavours you expect are all there – thank you for anchovies – the only issue was my pet peeve – an over cooked poached egg. I saw others who had an egg done in the same style enjoy lovely runny yolks, so the kitchen knows what to do, but mine, and on the same dish next to mine did not ooze, they were not able to further moisten the dish, though the dressing worked of course. Nice bacon, lovely croutons, and the chicken was OK.

My tea, a teabag in a pot of ginger and lemongrass was lovely, though I didn’t note the brand.

The room was very noisy this day, there was an even larger table full of very happy men nearby, otherwise some smaller tables of couples on the other side. The court yard would be charming on a day when it isn’t teaming.

Great caf with a warm atmosphere serving fresh tasty food. Friendly staff. Recommend the Soups and pulled Lamb burger. Nice range of cakes too.

This caf, not far from Mont Albert Station, is in a fine converted old 1920s/30s shop, with large street facing windows, and a pleasant courtyard, which was quite full of Sunday breakfast crowds. There are also some kerbside tables under a street awning, and some shade umbrellas. The decor inside includes faux marble tables, classic timber chairs, and a large tiled-top table for group dining. There are paintings and other wall ornaments, and a timber counter, with display space all around. The interior is a little old fashioned but in keeping with the building architecture. I did not find the service overly welcoming: I had to ask for a table, and was given an unsmiling nod in response from one of the baristas. The waitresses were formal but pleasant enough. The menus are left on the tables, and indicated that one has to order at the counter (grumble), however, a waitress did approach my table and take my order. The menu included fairly standard breakfast and lunch fare, and was not very adventurous. I ordered the veggie breakfast without eggs, which was a generous serve and quite filling, but nothing special, apart from the house-made baked beans. The coffee didn’t arrive until much after I started my meal, but it wasn’t bad. No water was provided though. It is a fairly good cafe, not very upmarket, but reasonable.
