We tried Grill Work on the first night we settled on our new house. Fish & Chips in an empty lounge room has become a bit of a tradition for me when moving in. We have been here numerous times since then, and despite ownership changes roughly 3 years ago there always seems to be a steady number of customers waiting on their orders.
It’s loud and crazy inside with phone orders going and a snake of paper orders working its way along the bench behind the counter. This snake has caused much frustration to me. I have placed a phone order been told a time and turned up and still waited 10-15 minutes
That said the fish is cooked well and is quite good quality. I like good ole plain flake but also enjoyed the blue grenadier. I will often get the steamed dim sims here in a soy sauce plastic bag. Yum
This place has decent fish and chips for a cheeky mid week treat. It always looks busy with locals picking up a meal on the way home. Worth a try if you’re in the area.

Standard fish n chips shop.
Burgers on the menu are relatively good for a basic burger. If the bun was more than a Safeway bun the burger would be much better.
Chips are always good, and fish is good quality.
Boiz, get around the local fish n chips repping Mont Albert! This place is hectic omg uleh.

We love the grilled fish at this place. A nice local fish and chip shop. I don’t get the credit card surcharge but it’s not huge. Also waits can be long at peak weekend times but always place a phone order Friday and Saturday.
Great fish n chips but the slowest service you’ll see. They have no system! And are you kidding me with the eftpos surcharge?? I buy $50+ worth of food and you want to slug me with a surcharge. Pffft
