Lizzies first impression: Its my favourite Japanese restaurant around Moonee Ponds area. The staff are so friendly and attentive.

Lizzie enjoyed: The sashimi is always fresh and I love ordering the sushi boat – it feeds around 4 people if you order 2 to 3 more dishes from A la carte. I also love their udon and the soft shell crab sushi.

Lizzie did not enjoy: It gets quite busy on the weekends so make sure you book if you have a big group.

Lizzie rates overall: I love the set up of the restaurant – the upstairs ambience is just as nice as downstairs. The food is always consistent and staff are so friendly.

I came here for a birthday dinner, the staff were amazing and friendly. The food here was fastly made with great quality. The food was delicious and was at a good price. I did not get the icecream though but seems a bit over priced. Parking was a bit hard to find but overall it was a HIGHLY recommended restaurant and a must come try.

Food was very delicious , I could taste the freshness in the salmon sashimi. Really loved the teriyaki sauce used in the beef (Found in Bento – $21) We also ordered the Japanese pancake which I thought was pretty yummy.
Only complain is that it isnt very value for money, given that for my Seafood Bento ($25) portions were miserably tiny – for instance, only one tempura prawn (the rest was tempura fried vegetables…).
Also, waiting time for food was pretty long – guaranteed its a Saturday night and it was full house. Its probably best to make a booking first in order to avoid disappointments of having to wait for a long time

This place really impressed me, down by realise it is two levels so actually really big. Authentic Japanese that caters for all. The staff were lovely and service was spot on. I had the Japanese pancake and shared a few little plates for entree which were quite big. They also have take away and got the sushi boat on another occasion and for the price you get a lot. Will definitely come back here. Good work guys!

Fancy looking place so we thought it was going to be expensive, however the prices were quite reasonable. Friendly staff and nice food 🙂
Never tried the sushi and sashimi combo on a boat before, but the layout was so beautiful and nicez

Sushi Boats Whos coming fishing? This is my Japanese destination for the northern suburbs. Always busy, sashimi is cut to perfect proportion, service is prompt and the soft shell crab rolls are a must. Such a great place for all group sizes and plenty of options on the menu.

    Best to book – enjoy!

    + Great food, attentive service
    – Music could improve ambiance, wine selection

Team lunch this month is at Chiba in Moonee Ponds. A few of us have been here before so I had great expectations. Beautiful restaurant with friendly waiters who speaks a little bit of English. Cute but not to the point that its frustrating. The sashimi is fresh and delicious. A great spot for a date, slightly on the expensive side. But very reasonable for a special occasion.
Would suggest to bring cash here because they charge fees using credit card and theres no Eftpos facility.
