Decided on a quick mid week lunch at Zeus Street Greek.
Big, bright, open and airy with outside seating as well.
Nearly the only customer there, so suffice to say service was quick and personal.
The menu is very straight forward and the Smoky Lamb Pita was delicious.

Quite possibly the worst souv. Far too much meat, not enough veggies, no lettuce. The whole thing was unbalanced. Lamb was not warm. Things need to change.

I really love the souvas here. The ones with chips are my favourite and the Tzimmy pork really reminds me of days in Greece. The pork is full
Of flavour, the Spanish onion adds some sweetness and the paprika chips make it super indulgent. Its a winner!
The Halloumi Mac and cheese croquettes are also a yummy little starter.
    Try it out. I recommend.

A girlfriend any myself ate here last night, we went to a restaurant across the road but they were closed so Zeus seemed like the next best option.

Fit out is nice, there is an open kitchen which looks good. There is a good menu and service was quick.

My friend and I both ordered the souvo, I got the chicken and lamb while she just got the chicken and we shared some chips. The souvo was ok but the taste of the meat wasn’t the best, not the quality but more how it was cooked. Would of been nicer if it had a flame grilled taste (like on the spit as you see at other Greek restaurants). The side of chips we ordered were woeful, horrible. They tasted stale and as if they had been sitting in a bain-marie for the last 30 minutes. We went to complain and they brought us some fresh ones, again not the best chips I’ve ever had.

It is fair to say that I won’t be returning back here.

I love Greek Street food and the Souvlaki is a staple. They have many different varieties Chicken, Lamb, Pork or Vegetarian. I alway to try the original as this gives me a good idea and comparison, we opted for the Lamb, dressed with tzatziki garnished with tomato and onions and lets not forget the chips. I loved the softness of the bread and the meat was good but I felt it was lacking all the other main ingredients. We got the meal pack which for 18.50 you get a side of chips and a drink. I felt the chips were extremely underwhelming. They did not seem fresh and were not hot. The kitchen is in full view so Im not sure what I missed. I like the vibe but I definitely have had better Souvlaki in Melbourne . If I was not on a little health kick I would have liked to try the loukoumades, this is one dessert I cant say no. So based on what I had the desire was not there. They also had kids meals but they were very small. If your kids are under 6 ideal otherwise they may need something more substantial . Overall if you were thinking Nandos, Grilled then this is on par. You wont leave disappointed but you also wont feel that was sensational.

We were invited to Zeus on the weekend and decided to get our goods takeaway. We chose a chicken pita and a lamb one accompanied by some bread and smoky eggplant dip. We also got some little donuts and opted for the traditional honey ones rather than Nutella. These were so good I polished them off an route before we started on the actual meal!

The pitas themselves I quite enjoyed. The meats were well flavoured and tender. They were also however quite salty as most kebabs tend to be which meant I was drinking litres of water for the remainder of the day. The chips though were unfortunately lacking salt (and flavour) but the bread was soft and the dip delicious. Next time Ill try the calamari and definitely more donuts!!
