Pretty disappointing.. the calamari was quite nice however everything else wasnt great. The gluten free pizza came out with no joke 5 pieces of melted cheese, no tomato paste and some tomatoes. For an extra $5.50 for a gluten free it was a complete rip off, $3 i understand but not $5.50 for a crunchy, over cooked , stale tasting pizza base. The pizza ended up costing $27.50… completely over priced. The people who had the non gluten free pizzas were disappointed as well. The outside of the pizza was puffy but the middle was so thin and soggy. The man at the register was extremely rude and had no customer service skills the only conversation was tap meaning the card and that was it , no good bye or how was everything. Overall the whole experience was ok. I wouldnt come back, go to DOC down the road they have much better food and service there.

Tonight I finally tried Bronx Napoli 1999! I ordered the Rigatoni Norma which is a pasta dish with tomato and eggplant. Servings were generous and it was interesting trying the grated ricotta salata cheese. I had never tried this before and it was quite unique and different from other ricottas Ive tried. The pasta also wasnt too soft. The dish reminded me of pasta that I ate in Italy, it was a simple recipe and not complicated. I was pleased that the prices are not too bad when compared to other Italian restaurants.

We also tried the Sweet Pizza. It was huge, and can be probably shared between up to 3 people. Dough was very nice and the pizza was warm unlike other dessert pizzas Ive tried. It was nice that they used berries which gave it a different twist – most dessert pizzas use mainly chocolate and not berries so it was nice and refreshing. The white chocolate worked well with this dish.

I can understand why this place is a popular restaurant in Mornington. It was nice.
