Love this place- the chefs are amazing! they care so much and every meal looks like it is from a magazine. So much flavour and care is taken.. Staff are attentive and polite. highly recommend this place!
Staff seemed uneducated about what and what isn’t vegan but once I ordered the avocado and ricotta smash on toast without ricotta the staff member on the till marked down the price for me (as I wasn’t eating half the meal) which is ALWAYS appreciated, especially when I don’t even have to ask for it.
Presentation was awesome and tasted beautiful 🙂
Cafe Modi attracted us while passing by. Their presentation and lunch menu looked inviting. The pumpkin soup was good. However, the corn fritters were below average and the rotolo was disappointing. The food looked healthy but lacked taste and flavours. Service is on the slower side, some cutlery was dirty and the water had an insect floating in it…bottles would be far more appropriate for outdoor dining than water jugs, but they didn’t have bottles they said. We left feeling we made the wrong choice of all the choices available in Main Street and had our coffee at Gem Cottage instead.
I haven’t eaten here yet but I can’t wait until I do !!! Had a coffee with some friends and the staff were so friendly lovely and down to earth they did exactly what I asked, no fuss or weird looks asking for extra froth can’t wait to try the eggs they looked Devine just walking past . Very underrated compared to other places in Mornington and I can honestly say this place should be a hit because it’s gorgeous setting and menu ! Keep up the good work
Very Poor! First impressions were the waitressbringing us drinking glasses to us which she did carrying themby sticking her fingers on the inside of the glasses…uurrrghh!. The water jug she gave us was filthy and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. They were very busy today, food finally came. I ordered a steak baguette. The wooden food board with my meal on had raw blood splatters on it next to my meal! The chips were so greasy (not cooked at high enough temperature) that when squashed the oil oozed out of them. I politely told the waitress of all these issues and didn’t even get an apology which really annoyed me. Disgusted with this place and certainly won’t be going there again. The minimum 1 start rating here is too good for this place. They have a lot to learn!
My partner and i usually go to 115 on a Sunday, but thought we would try somewhere new. A beautiful spot in the sun, but ruined by flys. Coffee was good, given i am very picky with my coffee i was impressed. But that’s unfortunately where the good feedback ends. We waited around 45 minutes for our breakfast to come out, which although it was busy seems excessive. When i asked the waiter to check on our food, he instead continued to take an order off another customer. Finally our food arrived, nothing appealed to us off the regular menu, so we decided to make our own. My partner and i ordered the same thing, 2 poached eggs, with bacon and avocado, except he added a side of tomatoes to his meal. it was ok, nothing special added to the meal, just standard bacon and eggs. We received toast too, which we didn’t order. When i went to the counter, the waiter said it came to $51, yes $51 for bacon and eggs and 2 coffees – absolutely ridiculous. When i disputed it, he pointed towards toast option on the menu, which was $7, toast that we NEVER ordered. But he asked, ‘Did you have toast?’ i replied with yes, but we didn’t order it – If we had have ordered it, shouldn’t the waiter have asked us what bread we would like, considering there are options as outlined on their menu? Mind you, we had a single piece of toast, $7 for one bit of bread! When i said this to the waiter he said, ‘Well, sorry..’. I walked off. We ordered ‘Two eggs how you love them’ for $4, bacon for $4, and avocado for $4. My partner also added tomatoes for $3.50. If coffees are standard price of $3.50 each, we should have paid $34.50. So we paid $16.50 extra for something we never asked for. What a disgrace. Will never return, and will be telling others of such a disappointing experience.
Great meals. Service a bit slow on a busy Sunday lunch – but made up by the chef taking our order & putting our sons food to the top of the list. Would definitely recommend this cafe
