Worst fish & chips I’ve ever had! The order was meant to take 20 minutes. After 1h I finally received some food with half the order missing. When I pointed this out to staff they became rude and offensive. What I did get was plain awful. The batter of the fish (never mind that I had ordered crumbed fish) was soggy and rubbery. Never got the potato cakes. The chips were only half cooked and still raw in the middle. The piece of cod had large bones in it! Absolutely disgusting food and unbelievably crap service. Avoid this place!
BEST F&C EVER! Great lunch choice at mornington beach. The fish are really fresh and the batter is very crispy~ My favourite one is the fried calamari ring here. Very nice and chewy!
Last year when I ate here the batter for the fish was too thick and oily and our potato cakes were really chewy. Recently I came to Mornington with the rest of my family and we tried your food and I’d definitely rate it a 10/10. The fish was beautiful and the chips tasted really good! Keep up the good work guys.
Pack for 2: 2 pieces of fish, potato cakes, dim sims, crab sticks (swapped out for calamari).
The fish was cooked okay but had a very slight hint of brine flavour. Not sure if it was the batter that contributed the unusual taste but even it was thick and so tough around the edges i couldnt even eat it. Dim sims and potato cakes were standard but the saving grace of the dish was the calamari. Lightly crumbed and tender it was the only good thing about it all.
The store was very busy and the staff seemed well organised.
One of the worst fish and chips places I’ve ever been to, avoid this place like a plague!!! We ordered a lunch pack and grilled blue grenadier, but got a kilo of chips and no fish at all. When we complained, they tried to persuade us that we ordered exactly that.
I was a bit concerned coming here given the number of bad reviews. I thought I’d try the place out however given it’s close proximity to the beach. I actually found everything to be OK. The fish was nice and the batter wasn’t too thick and was nice and crisp. The chips were good too. I also found the service to be quite quick given the number of people ordering. I’ll come here again next time I’m in the area.
Absolutely the worst fish and chips we have had!!! Soggy and oily. It’s pretty hard to stuff up a steamed dim sim but they did. After a few bites all 3 of us put the waste of money in the bin.
