Next door to this joint is my local Noodle Box where I tend to spend most of my lunch outings. I noticed Mr Jackson being a place that I tend to check out one day on my weekend and to be honest the whole experience was terrible.

Understandably that it was a Sunday in the middle of the day, you would have lots of people around. But the way the service was handled was not up to standard and the enjoyment of the atmosphere was something I wouldnt consider cosy.

The coffee I enjoyed the most. The food…not so much. The toast I got given on my breakfast was so hard and way over done. Overall, it was tasteless.

The meal was missing a lot of spark for its buck.

Waitresses made us feel ignored for most of the time and I had to ask the question of where their menus were. One of them said they are over there in the white box, help yourself. From my own experience in hospitality, I personally gave customers menus when they asked for them.

The cutlery was given to us after we got given our meals and the first round of drinks took a while, (close to 30 minutes).

If I was anyone reading this, Id look elsewhere for a much better food experience with your family or on your own.

After reading mixed reviews on this cafe, I had mixed emotions if I should try it or not. I thought its best I have my own experience to make the judgment. When I got there, I asked how long the wait was for a table and if I could leave my name and was told that I have to wait and run to the first table I see free, after waiting 20 minutes, I saw a couple leave and basically sprinted to catch the table before anyone else. My table was cleared 15 minutes after I had sat down, and after it was cleared another 5 minutes for it to be wiped. I order the Mr. Jackson, and never in my life have I had something so flavourless in my life. The poached egg was more a boiled egg, the bacon was dryer then a desert, the spinach and mushroom had no salt, or tang or anything sort of flavour and to top it all off, I found a long black hair in my food. By that point I had enough, I got up paid the bill and will never set foot nor recommend this place to anyone. Dont waste your time, let alone money. With such a beautiful area, there are plenty of other cafes to choose from.

Ive been to Mr Jackson on a number of occasions and every single time it has exceeded my expectations.
The staff are always lovely and the food is absolutely beautiful.
I would recommend it to anyone!

In an area flooded with cafes we decided on Mr Jackson due to its steamed buns and healthy options. The place was really full on a Monday of all days and the food took quite a long time to come. My wife had the steamed Bao buns which she quite liked and I settled on one pork bao and the chicken bang bang salad. The pork in my bun was dry and way over done not a good start. The salad was very ho hum, no chilli hit at all, barely any chicken and dressing needs more oomph, saying that it was very fresh. A side of chips was really small and of average quality. Service was quite nice and attentive but the food Is just run of the mill.

Food: Delicious! Mocha had excellent ratio between coffee and chocolate.
Ambience: inside fantastic, outdoors unfortunately the noise from the traffic (cars and motorbikes) can be a hindrance – cmon Mornington Shire do something to protect local businesses!
    Service: Outstanding!

Friendly staff, well presented food, enjoyed every bite of miss piggy, they offer lactose free milk which is a big plus for me. I will be back for sure. Thank you
