Well.. I came here for a family lunch and saw it got 2.7.. I got the wagyu beef burger with bacon, cheese, and a milk bun. When it came, it had lettuce on it.. It was a bit of a let down, but nothing too bad. It was ok. I feel like this joint tries to make the food a bit too fancy in comparison to reality. For example, the burger came with sweet potato chip.. Why not just normal chips!?

Back down for another weekend trip, so we thought we would try steeples again.
Wasnt great last visit, but I’ll concede they were very busy. Service was quite good but the food had a lot to be desired, the worst satay sauce ever on top of dry chicken sticks, fragrant rice? Main bbq pork average and my wife’s fish and chips very below par.

My family and I regularly go to steeples, not so much for the food, but the pleasant atmosphere and the kids room. The service staff have always been excellent as well.
The food has been on a steady decline, and this evening sunk the boat for me.
No effort at all was made by the chef to satisfy diners needs. I asked for my seafood to be grilled instead of fried… No, I was told. This is unacceptable in this day and age with so many dietary requirements. I ordered the grilled snapper. It wasn’t fresh, it came in frozen, and it was cooked without a care. I’m guessing it was sprayed with cooking oil and baked for an undisclosed time. No seasoning, no Accompaniments, no sauce, just lemon and tartare sauce. Like you would get at a fish and chip shop, not for a $30 snapper fillet. It also tasted as if it was sitting in its ageing defrosting juice, marinating in old fish flavour. I ate one bite and I was off my food for the night. I was embarrassed for the chef, but I’m sure he doesn’t give a shit.
The remaining food was woeful at best. Presentation was disgusting. The veg was so overlooked, even a Snr citizen would have complained. All the seafood is frozen there, the flathead comes in battered and frozen, Panko prawns are frozen, cooked prawns are frozen, squid is frozen, bugs are frozen. Every seafood item is frozen and they are 8 minutes from the beach!!!! Steeples is very overpriced and the food is terribly overcooked. In fact, I didn’t see an item of food that was cooked proper at all!
If a chef doesn’t care, it’s time to move on and become a rep.
I’m done with steeples. I work hard for my money, and I feel absolutely ripped off!
I had the roast turkey special (photo) which was very nice. Another of our group had the seniors’ minute steak (photo) which was also nice. Washed down with a glass of Pepperjack Shiraz. Nice venue. Good service.
Everything was great. 11 of us had dinner at Steeples and everything was spot on. Everyone said their meals were delicious , portion sizes were big, and the service was exceptional. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and great with the kids. The best part for us was the gluten free options, even all the gravies were gluten free. We are going back again on the weekend!
Food and service was poor.. I had heard Steeples had great food and great prices. They may have last year, but in 2015 my experience was not a good one. We had a table of 10 adults and 4 kids. Most meals on our table were terrible. Chicken parmas were very over cooked, dry and horrible. The fish was dry and the side salad looked like it had been on the bench sitting out all day. The rice was gluggey and wet and the chips looked and tasted like they had been re heated more than once. Only the kids loved their meals. And on the topic of kids meals, Steeples has a kids menu with drink and desert included. But you need to keep going up to the desk or ask a staff member on their way past for their drink. And at the end of the night, the deserts had not come. Our table was cleared, but yet again we had to ask staff about the kids deserts! Just disappointed on so many levels on the service and food quality. And even when one person on out table shared our group consciences to the staff member at the front desk, nothing was followed up or an apology for our experience. The response given was, did you tell the staff member when they cleared the table!!!! Unfortunately I have to give thumbs down for this place. I love giving positive feedback but am unable to on this occasion.
