Really great local find when I was craving fish and chips on night and since then I have not ventured out further to find another as Archie’s is convenient and offers great food and service . The calamari here is a must !

This is a delightful Greek fish and chippery but overall is hit and miss. I ordered the Fishermans Basket which had very thick and tender cut calamari but unfortunately the batter was too thin and came off the calamari (see photos). The fish (flake) was also very mushy on the inside and the batter was not thick or crunchy enough -tasted like glue paste spread on the fish. Also, my Dad and I agreed that this fish fillet has to be the smallest and thinnest fish fillet we have ever got from a fish and chip shop! Only 1cm thick and the quality of fish was not appetising at all!

The good parts are the prawn which is by far the biggest and firmest fresh prawn I have had battered ever! Very big and juicy prawn that had fresh texture and flavour! The other positive was the chips were short and fat (as traditional fish and chip chips should be) and were fried to perfection.

My Dad commented his open mixed souvlaki was quite tasty and generous portion but just so people know the souvlaki here is not cooked on a spit but is just meat marinated in Greek seasoning and cooked from raw in a hot plate It didnt quite have the charred and smokey flavour of proper souvlaki meat. We hope they would improve their souvlaki given they are a Greek themed fish and chip shop!

Overall, I probably would not go back as the only memorable thing was the prawn. Still on the quest to find a decent fish and chip place!

Totally love this place. The service is very quick. The souvlaki is so filling. Tried all of them and they are so fresh each time. The chips are crisp and served hot.
