Its often hard to find a good Italian restaurant in the suburbs without having to travel all the way into the inner city but this Italian restaurant in Glen Waverley offers wood fire ovened pizza, a range of pastas (where you pick your sauce and type of pasta), risotto and classic mains so there is something for everyone. The pizza is thin and crispy, its not an ultra thin base, but decent. We had the works which literally had all the toppings (but anchovies) and the al prosciutto pizzas, the warm chicken salad, lassagna and arancini balls. All the dishes were tasty, I would happily go back!

Basilico was very busy when we went on a Saturday night. Staff were friendly and efficient. Pizzas were nice. The meatlover and supreme had lots of toppings. However the spaghetti marinara was a big let down. It was flavorless and oily, and only had 2 prawns, 2 scallops, a couple pieces of calamari and some pipis, definitely not as much seafood as an average marinara you get anywhere else. It was a very noisy venue, hard to hear each other. Unsure if will return.
Our waitress had some difficulty understanding a simple question we had regarding which pizza had more cheese to offer and seemed to lack knowledge of the menu when we asked for recommendations. I ordered the seafood marinara tortellini, which would have been better if there was more sauce to make it creamy, here it was a bit dry. The amount of seafood was alright though. We got extra cheese on the pizza in the end but would have liked more toppings in general. So-so experience.
