Happy with the food here. Ordered the rojak, curry laksa and assam laksa. All the dishes were authentic and delicious. Would have liked a little more fish in the assam laksa. Love that they have A&W Root Beer!
3.5 to be precise
First of all, Im quite surprised by the few reviews here that mention how rude and arrogant Uncle Danny is. We certainly did not get that from him when we went there for the first time. In fact, we found him to be humble, approachable and soft-spoken after a lengthy chat with him.
Now onto the food. We had:
-Char Kway Teow: best weve had so far!
Mee Pok (Bak Chor Mee): has all the authentic elements right down to the pork fat, and the broth accompaniment was really good!
Sambal Kangkung: lacked a notch of oomph
Turmeric Chicken Drumlets: good marinade albeit slightly dry
Teh tarik: too weak and milky
As the portions were quite small, we wolfed everything down in no time and Uncle Danny had the biggest smile on his face when he saw our empty plates.
We would love to come back to try the much talked about Singapore Hokkien Mee one day.
