I used to love this place, what happened? We went there in a group last night on a whim. We had to constantly get up and physically chase down staff to get them to acknowledge us at all. Some meals were ok, whilst others were terrible. My daughter was really looking forward to her potato skins, which came with minimal filling, and was too chewy for her to bite through. I had Tex mex combo. Admittedly the chicken wings were tender and nice, but he ribs were honestly more like beef jerky. I was so hungry I ate them, but should have said something to the staff, as it definitely was not worth the $34 I paid for. Had to really work my jaw to eat it, and some parts my 6 yr old son ate because , and I quote, mum I want some of your jerky.
Rice was full and fluffy, salad was tasty, but overall having to eat that plate of beef jerky when I was expecting tender ribs, really made me think that I ate a dried out piece of ribs from a few nights ago, warmed up and slathered in some sauce. I would have preferred the kitchen staff to tell staff to come back and get me to reorder. If they could find us.
I had a traditional margarita which was well made, though didnt have hardly any salt on the rim.
The younger staff members did do their best to answer questions and be helpful, the older staff seemed displeased that we even existed.
I spent almost $100. For that I would expect more than yesterdays dried out food. So disappointed, I have given up on going on for Mexican good. It used to be better than what I made at home, but given my own delicious salsas and guacamole I make, Im much better to stay at home and cook. At least I wont risk losing a tooth chewing through my food.
Finally got a chance to try out this place!
We ordered the nachos with chilli con carne with jalapenos, Texan chilli burrito and some kids meals. The nachos were divine, crunchy and slathered with sour cream and guacamole. Disappointing that there was minimal jalapenos and no spiciness. Partner liked the burrito, thought it was really good.
Friendly service but had to ask for water and kid’s meal drinks and ice-cream. Lots of on-site parking.

My husband and I have been to Nachos Cantina many times in the last few years. While I have tried many of their dishes, I always go back to my personal favourite, flautas (with beef). Our most recent visit was a couple of weeks ago, my beef flautas were as good as I remembered. The slow-cooked beef was very tender and the fried tortilla was perfect. My husband ordered the Acapulco Trio, which has 3 enchiladas (2 pulled pork and 1 beef) and 1 beef taco. It was great, although we both think the pulled pork was better than the beef. I also ordered a Splice margarita, however I found it to be a bit average. I could barely taste the melon and coconut liqueurs (or any alcohol at all), and it just tasted like a nondescript mocktail.
While this time we were very full and didn’t order dessert, we have had their Chocolate Nachos in the past. It was too sweet for us. But if you have a big sweet tooth and want an impressive-looking dessert, you might like it.
The service during our most recent visit was a bit slow, but the restaurant was very busy and it seemed they were short-staffed that day. We don’t go there very often now as it’s quite far from where we live, but it’s still a good restaurant offering food with consistent quality.
