Surprisingly decent, we always come here for family events and to eat and the buffet is always reasonably priced and fairly filling and tasty. Top place for birthdays and or events.
We visited the Village Green with family of 10 for Easter on 1st April. The Tuesday prior to arriving I had called the venue and was told there would plenty of Gluten free options which is why we booked there.( Give mum a break from cooking:) ) The gentleman on the phone went on further to explain about the dishes and also checked with the head chef giving us confidence in our booking. When we arrived I was told there were only a few options pretty much half of the buffet would be not suitable as it contained gluten. Quite frustrated and disappointed, a staff member went to get the head chef. Matt (head chef) mentioned that he was never approached or asked about this and he had been there all week. 🙁 Thanks to Matt who was an absolute superstar, firstly apologized and then offered to make some dishes that were being served, gluten free. There was fish/seafood and beef. He brought it specially to my table, beautifully presented. He also went on further to explain the buffet thoroughly in regards to what I could have and asked me to call when ready and he would prepare some gluten free ice cream. WOW! I was once again served at my table with a beautifully presented plate of ice creams and fruit. The food overall was terrific and the salads I could have were great as well as the pav and pannacotta which I could eat! I was able to try the roasts and veggies which were delicious. I just wanted to give a big thank you to Matt who was awesome and handled the situation with care, thoughtfulness and professionalism. Thank you Village Green and Matt for excellence in customer service which allowed us to thoroughly enjoy our Easter!! Matt is a great asset to the establishment. 10 out of 10!!
