  Nagambie has a lot going for it because it is only a short hour and a half north of Melbourne and it is set on a lovely lake. And it is the fitting place for a status of the mighty Black Caviar. Most takeaways in the Main Street have left us underwhelmed when previously grabbing something to eat. It today we had a bit more time so we had a lunch on the deck of ghetto bistro overlooking the lake. The service was very friendly and relaxed and both of our meals, pork belly and gnocchi were tasty and well prepared and presented. Definitely worth stopping and enjoying the location that deserves to be enjoyed.The second and third visits weren’t quite as impressive so I’ve taken half a star off

  Stopped in for a quick lunch Fish and chips very well cooked , lamb rump cooked perfectly . Would of been better if they held off on the garlic in the mash .. Highly recommend , great food, service usual counter lunch service but with a smile .Excellent view ..

  Friendly service and fabulous food at amazing prices. We ate here last night – WOW! The place was packed and the staff remained super friendly and accommodating. The food was truly the best surprise ever – delicious, reasonably priced and huge serves. I had the beetroot and goats cheese arancini – superb. The rest of the group had mussels and parmas and everyone was very happy. The decor is a bit school canteen and it was very noisy, but the food and service totally outweighs this. I can’t recommend this bistro highly enough.
