It seemed odd bypassing Springvale and heading to Noble Park instead for Vietnamese cuisine, but we wanted to check the neighbourhood out.
Arriving at what looked like the major shopping strip with quite a few restaurants around, we parked the car and strolled along, stopping at places in between to look at menus whilst deciding where to have lunch.
We were about to walk on after browsing
KKs menu when who seemed like the owner gestured us in and we obliged. Despite not being very extensive, their menu still had some of the usual suspects.
Typically Id go for ph or bn b hu, but the weather was too hot for either, so I decided on the dry Hainam Chicken Noodles, which came with a side of clear soup and extra sauce for the noodles. The chicken was silky and tender and the sauce was nicely done, but the egg noodles were undercooked and unpleasantly chewy.
My partners Special Khais Noodle Bowl faired better. His turmeric rice noodles were cooked perfectly and did a great job in absorbing the light and delicate curry-like broth.
Service was unfortunately rather awkward. We ordered a side of Bbq Lemongrass Pork Skewers and Viet Chicken Wings. First, we were told that the pork skewers have been sold out, so we switched to beef instead.
Next, we were told that the wings too were sold out (at 11.30am?), and pretty much as soon as we agreed to switch for spring rolls, a plate of wings hit the table. So you can imagine our confusion and the kerfuffle amongst the staff that ensued.
I was taking a picture of the wings when the lady boss came up to explain that they were actually meant for the UberEats photo shoots, which we did notice taking place as we walked in. So we told her that she could take them away since we had already ordered spring rolls.
The skewers that came were dry and looked as though theyve been deep fried. The spring rolls were better, but missing the dipping sauce, so instead we improvised by using the leftover noodle sauce.
Overall, our whole experience and observations that afternoon pointed to an early infancy stage of a restaurant, which was confirmed when I queried about how long theyve been opened – 1.5 months.
We cant be sure, but we think that they tried to make up for our poor experience that day by giving us extra spring rolls (6 instead of 4) and not charging us for one side dish (our mental calculation says we shouldve been charged more).
If that was the real case, we appreciate it. Regardless, we sincerely hope that they will find their own feet with time and excel.

This place appealed to me because of the well constructed menu and photos. For of ‘Fancy Vietnamese’ food well presented and smack bang with flavour. The service was good and food was delivered efficiently. Well priced pointed for Noble Park
