Beatrix is a tiny cake shop so be prepared to queue. I ordered a slice of pistachio & lemon cheese cake. The cake was not too sweet, moist, pistachio topping was crunchy & delicious. This was definitely worth the calories.
It’s not hard to absolutely love this place, and it’s well-deserving of the constant queue that snakes out its door (though I can imagine in winter this creates quite the challenge for cake enthusiasts). The pulled pork on brioche was amazing – as all pulled pork burgers generally are. The rare beef roll was SO good, but a little too rare for me. I swapped it for my friend’s pork burger. We ended with the red velvet cake, which was almost too pretty to eat. I thought the icing would be cream cheese, but it wasn’t. Still tasty, and an absolute treat. Gorgeous little place in an unassuming part of North Melbourne.
