A pop up deep fried icecream stall. We had the honey with caramel popcorn. Quite big for its size. The batter was bready inside but had a golden crisp batter. The icecream was slightly hard so it was hard to initially break the ball. Thankyou for having us.#deepfriedicecream

Heading into the warmer weather, ice cream is a lovely treat; but what about a crispy, deep fried icecream ball? Phat Fried Ice Cream have come up with this idea as a great dessert option. This stall is only open on Sunday, but is proving quite popular with market goers. There are a few different flavours, and I went with the caramel popcorn version. The ball itself was huge, with a deliciously crunchy batter coating. The icecream itself was nice and creamy, and although it was hard at first, it did soften up as I ate it. The caramel sauce was delicious too, and the salty popcorn was a great addition. The stall was staffed by a friendly bunch, and they got our order out to us quite quickly. It’s a little bit of a wait, but the balls are fried to order, and really are worth the wait.

3.5 ⭐️Phat Fried Ice Cream is a pop up stall in Shed A of the Queen Vic Markets every Sunday. Specialising in a childhood favourite, it’s a great family friendly dessert! For $8 you get a giant ball of vanilla ice cream, deep fried and topped with your choice from 4 flavour selections. We had the chocolate and caramel popcorn. I found the dough to be a little bit thick but the flavours were great and it really reminded me of being a kid. The serving size is huge and it’s really easy to eat while walking which is always a win! Thanks for having us in!

It’s just alright and will do to satisfy a fried ice cream craving. The ice cream is quite average quality and the breading is okay, slipping right off the ice cream. ‘Glad I tried it but wouldn’t get again’ – a friend put it well.
