Have had BaoxWaffle at events and markets, so glad they’ve got some permanent digs in northcote so I can feast on their delicious baos and waffles, can’t go wrong with either option. My personal faves are the Bolo (fried chicken) and the Po Po (fish). Their broken rice lunchbox is decent too and they’ve got a delicious dessert – winning!
I had seen Bao X Waffle a while back on Instagram and was very intrigued by the concept. Having returned from the U.S a month ago where I tried my first Waffle Sandwich, it was time to pop into this Northcote restaurant. I tired the Arrow Root Waffle and it was sensational. The waffle isn’t sweet and has the texture of a cake. Perfect for the savory filling. The size of on was enough to fill you up and on my next trip, I have been recommended by the owner to try the Fish – his personal favorite. If you want something different in the area I highly recommend Bao X Waffle
