  Tiny and adorable with a refreshingly varied and healthy menu. They have lots of veggie and vegan options that rotate seasonally. I was tempted by the vegan charcoal waffles but settled for the protein bowl. It rekindled my love for simple grain, green and legume bowls, although it was a bit plain. For $18, I prefer dishes that don’t feel like I could cook them myself at home. Either way, was fresh and the green tomatoes dressing definitely zested it up. My hot soy flat white was actually hot, not just slightly warm, and served in a large mug which I appreciated. I’d definitely give this place another go when in the area.

  Had brunch at this cute little neighbourhood cafe. By little, I mean tiny!
  I found the menu a little limited but it was good to see there were healthy options.
  I enjoyed my smoothie bowl and hot chocolate. There is room for improvement with the service. I ordered my meal with no chia because I am allergic and after a long wait, the dish materialised with chia and I had to return it and wait again.
  But all things considered, Id be back 🙂

  We were invited back to Cornerstone of Northcote and I really enjoyed our dishes. The avocado with hibiscus jelly was certainly a creative take on melbournes fave breakfast staple. Similarly the charcoal waffles with coconut yoghurt and blood orange were a healthy and unique way to have a treat.

  I also tried a lavender chai which is basically a chai with lavender bits in it. Not sure what health purpose that serves but it sure did look pretty. While this cafe is small its doing big things, you may just have to wait for your table to experience them.

  I was invited to dine as a guest of the Cornerstone of Northcote last weekend. Open a mere 2 weeks they were bustling with locals and really nailing their unique selling point of an on trend health cafe. There are so many delicious sounding smoothies and hot drinks available, dont let the lack of a menu on here deter you have a look on their Instagram.

  I had a charcoal latte served with a syringe so I could inject the charcoal myself. I love a bit of theatre with my brunch and that was certainly the first time Id seen that. Charcoal latte themselves have not yet become mainstream (unlike their matcha and turmeric cousins) but the syringe made it even more unique. My sister got the sugar free hot chocolate which was served with the clean eaters favourite garnish, cacoa nibs.

  Pretty drinks aside I pretty much wanted all of their smoothie bowls but opted for the mango for the fact it came with a little mango popsicle inside. This was the perfect summery dish and so very tropical and refreshing. Our other dish was the chicken salad which was certainly a nourishing choice. This cafe ultimately proves that healthy food doesnt have to be boring, and that a beautiful smoothie bowl can be just as instagrammable as calorific freakshake. No doubt they will fast amass a cult following
