I can confidently say that Turkish ice cream is now my favourite type of icy treat, beating out gelato and even ice cream sandwiches. The ice cream at Cuppa Turca is stretchy and a bit chewy, as I’m sure you’ve heard if you know about this place. This is definitely a selling point.

Another pro is that unlike other Mediterranean sweets, the ice cream is not too sweet at all. It has a great depth of flavour without leaving you feeling burnt out on sugar.

I sampled many flavours, but settled on the vegan Turkish delight, which was sort of reminiscent of a cotton candy/bubblegum ice cream. It was good, although not nearly good as my partner’s tahini scoop (topped with crushed pistachios!!) which I was severely disappointed I didn’t get.

Another amazing flavour was the feta and melon- not nearly as gross as it sounds. It’s creamy, only slightly salty and satisfyingly fresh. The vegan black sesame was also great. I can’t wait to try more next time, and then justify my purchase because the shop is on Liven (meaning credit back on every purchase). Although at $5 for a single scoop, Cuppa Turca is competitively priced and well worth the money.

When I stepped in the shop, I was feeling like in Turkey. Little potteries with traditional Turkish decoration. Order the Turkish coffee, tea and sweets, yummy. Best things combined with coffee and tea. Not really sweet compared with other Turkish cafe which is good. Like the sand cooking bench. Will go back to try other sweets.

What’s better than a baklava? A baklava ice cream sandwich! Also known as a Turkish Heaven, it’s heaven indeed. The light and flaky baklava, the crunchy nuts within the baklava, the smooth creamy ice cream and the fairy floss all did their part to provide contrasting elements of texture and flavours.

Also tried the kunefe and wow is all I can say. I thought the Turkish Heaven was great but the kunefe was next level. Crisped yet chewy on the outside, and stuffed with stretchy cheese inside. It may sound like a weird combination but don’t knock it till you’ve tried it.

I personally preferred the halva ice cream over the hazelnut ice cream, as the hazelnut flavour was a bit inconspicuous.

The Turkish coffee was brewed over sand and it was interesting to see them making it. Lovely strong and smooth brew, it definitely hit the spot.

This place is a definite after dinner go-to. Ive been there twice and I really like the ice cream as it isnt super rich and sweet, which is good after a heavy meal.
Its not like your average ice-creamery, the ice cream is a little chewy but still a little creamy. Its different but good. You can get their ice cream (dondurma) in an wafer ice cream sandwich which I really enjoyed (its good a marshmallow like cream in between it). Ive tried their peanut butter baklava and their rose turkish delight, both great. The chai here is one of the best, so you better CHAI this place out (sorry I had to)!

Really good Turkish ice cream, which is more stretchy and chewy than traditional Italian ice cream. Also tried the turkish delights which were really nice and not overly sweet. The staff are great, very helpful and they encourage you to try the different flavours. Recommend.
