Sadly last time. We have known the owner for years and had good meals. Took friends tonight. Awful. Embarrasing. Shocking. Only two tables. Food took 45 minutes. No dal!!!!!!
Waitresses chatting…not a care in the world. Food average and unseasoned but did not clear table and so we sat amongst mess!
Had to ask for bill 4 times.
We all recon the restaurant is a front for something.
    Too bad to be true!

Never again!. Tonight was the last time I will eat/or attempt to eat here. It is clear nothing is made fresh. How can they run out of things only an hour into them being open? I called and placed an order for pick up. I was told this was fine and would take 15mins. 13mins later I get a call as I am walking and almost there to inform me they have run out of what I ordered.
Previously I have had a delivery take over 2 hours to arrive at my home.
Ordering by phone or at the restaurant makes no difference… it is painfully slow! I have sat in that restaurant waiting for take away for an hour before.
Shame because the food is not bad, and it’s my local. You have ruined my night for the last time Downunder Curry!

Best eggplant dish in Melbourne. Hands down the best eggplant curry I’ve had in Melbourne. Their Dhal Makhani is excellent, and their other dishes decent. Service is sometimes slow, but always polite.

I have been here with a couple of friends twice now and have been disappointed both times. The staff are friendly but on both occasions service has been painfully slow (even just awaiting a cup of tea, then the cups for the rest of our party , then the milk all delivered in painfully slow instalments), the food is not great, and the environment is not attractive. I do not enjoy my visits here though my friends do. Make sure you have a few hours to spare to wait around. I do believe the bar/kitchen may not be adequately stocked and that people may be going off to buy items while we wait. I don’t recommend, unfortunately, though our naan bread was quite nice

Friendly staff, large, peaceful restaurant and great cheap food. Raj and staff run this really lovely restaurant. Food is always good and the place is fantastic for large groups, especially with children.

Wouldn’t recommend. Ate here mid week. there was nobody here (literally no customers). food took 35 minutes to arrive. was average but nothing to write home about. the toilets are in need of maintaining and smelt of urine. will not go back

I really like this place for a hearty meal, though it’s not worth waiting for delivery (never less than an hour). Quicker to eat in or pick up.
