Ferdinand is a very lovely Italian restaurant in Westgarth, right opposite the Palace Theatre. Its a great place to catch up with friends or a date before or after a movie. Staff is very polite and attentive and I love how they try pronouncing Italian words correctly! Great effort!
Food is lovely and portions are pretty generous.

Being invited to this aromatic Italian restaurant was music to my tastebuds. Greeted by the owner, Shandor and our waiter Massimo we felt instantly welcomed and at home – true Italian style! I was ready to devour whatever deliciousness was cooking up in the kitchen!

This place has been gorgeously renovated by Shandors wife Nicola who is a visual merchandiser and owns a childrens store in Smith St. With wood as the feature and industrial exposed pipes complementing the decor all the while listening to relaxing tunes – lets just say our wine went down a treat. This restaurant is perfect for those looking for nice casual dinners, family get togethers, a first date or even massive functions in what is a perfect outdoor space for groups of 30/40 (seated) – 60 (standing). Did I mention theyre dog friendly?

Shall we get the ball rolling? (cha ching ) For entrees we had the caprese salad as any good Italian would, along with perfectly crumbed calamari, both were delicious. For mains we had their wood fire pizza and spaghetti marinara. Let me just say the marinara was amazing with generous amounts of seafood (just the way I like it)! For my sweet tooths, we had the tiramisu and the pannacotta for desert and it didnt disappoint. The balance on the tiramisu was on point and the berries on top of the pannacotta were heaven.

Definitely recommend this place the service is fantastic and the two boys cooking pizza (Francesco and Luca are happy to take selfies and chat all things from the motherland!)

Thanks for inviting us it was a pleasure dining with you!

Friendly staff but not organise. We had family dinner here. It was super squishy as we sat on 11 people for 8 people table. The meal was good but this place is more suitable for small number people maybe up to 6.

If you are in the hustle and bustle of the inner Melbourne suburb, Northcote we would highly recommend coming down to Ferdinand for dinner or lunch! We came down on a Saturday night and it was busy throughout the night! We absolutely loved the delicious Ferdinand pizza which had fresh cherry tomatoes, prosciutto, mozzarella, and fresh basil. The pizza base was so thin and crispy and we loved the recommendation of some chili oil to go on top. The Spaghetti Marinara is also a must try – with plenty of seafood (mussels, pipis and prawns) this dish was perfectly cooked and the seafood was cooked really well! We also had Rocket with fresh pear slices tossed with goats cheese and honey and balsamic dressing – a good accompanying side dish! And to finish it all off we shared a Tiramisu which was so delicious with every mouth full! On top of all the yumminess, we loved our waiters who were so friendly and accommodating! We will definitely be back!
