What a fabulous place for drinks. We came here for pre dinner drinks on a Thursday night, it wasn’t packed but had enough people in there that looked relaxed and having a quiet one. Upon entering the place looked moody with its dimmed lighting, big comfy couches set for two, four and larger groups and a great indoor fire place. There was not much on the food menu however they did have a great selection of wine, cocktails and spirits.
Nice little bar and I love what they have done with the courtyard recently. Good drink selection and nice set up.
But….unfortunately, every time I’ve been to Kitty recently, the bartender’s partner/friends are dominating the bar area/courtyard and it takes FOREVER to get served. According to their frequent announcements/high fives, they’re not even paying for drinks. They are kind of jerks to other people, as well.
I probably won’t be back until the whole group moves on to some other freeloading hot spot.
If the bartender in question is the owner, then, well, I’ll need to wait til it changes hands!
Lovely warm and cosy vibe, great staff, fantastic cocktails and killer tunes. Have been to countless birthday drinks here and always a winner for a good chat by the fireplace or bar, even out in the beer garden for the smokers.
Sweet bar with a name to match in High St, Thornbury. Comfy chairs and an excellent range of cocktails makes this the perfect location for a long, lovely evening with friends. Gorgeous little Art Deco lamps add a nice touch to the long, spacious room. We sampled quite a few of the cocktails including a great Negroni & Whisky Sour. The staff were knowledgable and helpful. Great little unassuming bar.

I’m very confused as to why the overall review for Kitty is so low!! This place is absolutely wonderful, with a delicious range of cocktails, knowledgeable, friendly bar staff and professional service. If cocktails aren’t your thing, there’s a decent range of quality spirits of all kinds, and a good beer and wine selection.
Add a range of music played on vinyl to match whatever atmosphere is floating through the room; soft lighting and a long bar where you can grab a stool and chat to the bartenders or your ‘neighbour’, or set up with some friends in one of the comfy, welcoming couch corners. Outside in the courtyard there’s room to chat, make friends with strangers, or just pop out for a smoke if that’s your thing.
Overall classy but not cold, professional but friendly. Easy to feel like part of the family. Do yourself a favour and make yourself one of the regulars!
Great selection of cocktails from the menu and more if you ask the skilled barstaff. Comfy couch next to a warm open fire and smoking areas front and back.

Went here a few times and really liked it, but the service was always a bit on the apathetic side. Despite this, because I liked the feel of the place, I tried to book a function there. I tried to call numerous times and emailed twice, with no response at all. Very disappointing. If you don’t do functions, or you’re booked out, a simple reply would be a kind courtesy for a business to provide.
