Over many years out of sheer desperation due to a lack of food outlets in Westgarth, myself and my colleagues have been subjected to Phil’s staff absolutely appalling service, attitude and general inability to accommodate the most simplest of requests. Adding to that, there is dirty cutlery, rolling of the eyes when asking for pretty much anything, the most awful bread which disappears into air (despite being a bakery) and some of the most tasteless and unsatisfying sandwiches and rolls in the area. If I could I would rate it 0.

This place.. not only is the customer service below average, I went in and bought a chicken and avocado wrap.. walked out with what should of been called a lettuce wrap with s SMALL amount of chicken and avocado in it.Too many times disappointed so wont be going back…

Nothing that will blow your mind here but lots of options and reliably good. New renevations make the space much more welcoming and the staff, as ever, are always chatty and friendly. There are so many other bakeries who are trying to hit the top but these guys are happy simply to remain affordable, reliable, and welcoming.

I initially gave Phil’s a good rating because it’s a refreshing change to the surrounding hipster cafs with their avocado-and-egg-on-organic-kale-toast breakfasts.

However, there’s a new staff member at Phil’s who keeps getting all orders wrong without a fail. Have stopped going because of this.

    Surly service, average food.

A very good bakery, everything is made with care and craft. Great bread and sandwiches, in fact the softest white bread I’ve ever had.

Ive been eating here a long time and they have great foods but the service is not friendly. Its not bad, just not good. They get your orders right but it lacks a bit of charm.

Worst bakery – service horrid. Tried to overcharge by 50 cents, though price clearly stated on the board. When price was queried was told ‘it’s just 50 cents. humph’. the staff member then said ‘just give it to her’ and rolled her eyes. Well if it’s ‘just 50 cents’, charge 50 cents less on everything. Rudest customer service ever. I regret buying from your store and understand why it’s empty on a busy Saturday afternoon.
