So good, I’ve eaten the entire menu at every cafe in Northcote and this is the best by far. Get the Lazy Hash or the lamb stew or the pancakes, you can do no wrong…

I used to live four doors from this site in what seems like another life. A nice little spot it is too in the backstreets of Westgarth. The previous cafes on the site, Hugo’s and Foxy Brown, were a bit up and down in my view. Sometimes good but sometimes a bit ordinary as well. Things are definitely looking up here. The menu looks much improved. The reports about the place from trusted locals are more positive. I popped in on the weekend but only for a coffee and some vegemite toast. I just wanted to gauge the feel of the place before I came for a meal. The feel is very good. The coffee was great. The seeded toast was excellent. The service was pleasant and upbeat. Time to return very soon.

I come to this cafe frequently and I thought I would add to my previous one. My new favourite dish is my Bircher Muesli, I could eat this day and day out and not get sick of it! I love the drizzle of honey that just gives it the extra touch!
The coffee is superb as always, I have not had a bad one yet and I often hear customers comment that the coffee is the best in the area! I have to say I would agree. My other half always has his scrambled eggs on toast with a side of chorizo. We love the service and once again the food is outstanding! Thanks again guys

I thought it was about time I reviewed my local, South Crescent Cafe, which is a stone throw away from my front door. This local cafe holds memories for me as it was my local milk bar where I used to buy my mixed lollies before it became a cafe.

The cafe has a very relaxed casual feel and the staff always make me feel welcome. I normally stop here for my coffee fix. This morning I actually stopped by with my brother and thought we would have a snack and coffee.

I ordered the Mixed berry muffin and my brother had the Bacon and egg muffin. My mixed berry muffin was warm and had plenty of berry filling in the middle. The egg and bacon muffin was devoured quickly by my brother.

The flat whites were brewed to perfection as they always are and the service was prompt and friendly. Well worth making the trip down to South Crescent cafe for your caffeine fix and/or breakfast/lunch.

I will definitely keep supporting my local!

The neighbourhood cafe is back. Great coffee and just had a wonderful potato rsti. New management brought the standards back up. Yay! Maybe a rebranding would help them though as it was pretty bad for a couple of years.

Quiet little cafe in South Cres Northcote. I had the lazy hash from lunch menu. It was amazing. Potatoes were crunchy on outside and soft in the middle. Poach egg perfectly runny. Lovely staff.

Not bad but not better than anything else on high st and Fairfield.
I had the polenta and poached egg with salad. Tasty enough but could do with more crisp on the polenta as it was soggy despite being fried. The egg was done well if you luke your eggs to run. My friend had the pulled pork which was a bit disappointing. The pork was soggy and wet, lacked that Moroccan flavour and the coleslaw inside didn’t add to it, just made the brioche bun clumpy and wet. Therefore too stodgy to eat. It came with a tiny basket of standard fries, no salad. Both costed $16 each which we felt was overpriced.
    Okay food but extortionate prices.
Lovely staff if a bit overworked and stressed.

Great cafe for all kinds of people, but as a family, we were happily surprised at how helpful the staff were at this cafe. Highchairs available, lots of space to manoeuvre a pram, nice courtyard out the back with toys. We found it so easy to relax as the staff made everything so easy. There is no kids menu, but we were told to ask for what we wanted and they would make it – cheese toastie for our little one. We will definitely be back! Oh, and the food was delicious!
