It was so moving to hear the stories of the men and Chef’s of Tamil feasts of who were previously detained as asylum seekers in Australia. The men were so open and honest about the difficulties that they have experienced and were also so warm and welcoming. This was a beautiful evening filled with important conversions and absolutely amazing food! I will definitely go back and bring more friends.
We recently dined here and we will be back every time we are in Melbourne – the food is amazing, the venue is beautiful – but neither the taste or the ambiance even compare to the inspiring team of cooks and volunteers sharing their stories and their food with the diners. Book yourself in – and take your friends – all of your friends.
Truly delicious food, and a really wonderful atmosphere–it’s an equally excellent choice for a special celebration or for a weeknight meal to catch up with friends. Vegan choices are very good. Great social enterprise to support.
Tamil Feasts is a social enterprise that supports refugees. 4 amazing Tamil men cook up dishes 3 nights a week (Mon, Tues and Friday). The menu changes each night and vegan/veggie options are available. The curries are delicious, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff are friendly, happy and efficient. $30 for 3 courses — you can’t go wrong.
