I have walked past this cafe a few times and always wanted to try out their menu.. the one time I went in there for a take away coffee, staff were really slow and I almost missed my train.
The second time I visited I sat down for a meal. The staff were accommodating to changes my friend and I wanted to make to the menu and I really enjoyed my meal and coffee. However, a certain staff member was really rude and almost made us feel stupid for asking questions which was a bit confronting.
Overall enjoyed my experience and meal. The area is really modern and open although slightly small. Will return for sure, hopefully on a day that it isnt busy or when there is more staff. Laura Simionato
Good place for a meal if you’re in the area, definitely not worth travelling to though! The smashed avo was really nice as well as their coffee, but nothing too special. Service was a big let down, although the food was prompt to come out and our needs were attended to, particular staff members seemed disinterested and very abrupt which was a disappointing first impression. Overall it’s a cute cafe and would be lovely for brunch on a sunny day!
This place has the nicest staff, free WiFi, very good and strong coffee and a small but inventive menu. Its pretty much the perfect local cafe.
I was catching up with my cousin so I wanted to try out the Herbert cafe in Northcote. This cafe definitely attracts the hipster crowd with its cool laid back vibe.
My cousin and I don’t fit this demographic but we certainly did not feel out of place.
We ordered our flat whites and some heavenly banana cake at the counter.
We sat outside in the Melbourne winter sun and before we could say ‘I need a coffee fix’ the coffees arrived.
Within a minute the warmed up Banana cakes were also served to us. The coffees were good and we were impressed with the banana cake, we didn’t even leave a crumb on the plate. The service was good and it has a casual but friendly vibe. I will definitely come back for lunch next time. Thumbs up guys!
Food and coffee is excellent, however, service can be quite slow. Location offers small amount of parking. Great atmosphere and lovely morning sun in the outside seating area.
The outside area is pretty cute and comfortable. The basil and chick pea sandwich was crispy and amazing. But the iced latte was tiny and not as satisfying as I expected it to be.
Great service here even when busy. Team members remember your name and are passionate about coffee. Great pastries, really like the granola too. On hot days, there’s even Zooper Doopers! Great space to sit and relax with no pressure. I’ve also set up camp with coffees and worked from here a few times. Love it 🙂
