My go-to place for decadent cocktails, smooth tunes, comfy lounges, low lighting, and crazy cats on the dance floor. The bar staff are awesome, and Thursday nights currently feature the amazing Vinyl Vixens DJ collective.
Went there for a friends birthday and the layout is really nice. There is an outdoor area decking which is perfectly suited to the out door vibe. The cocktails are amazing, probably the best I’ve experienced in Northcote. Really good music too, the staff are very friendly and we all felt at home here. (We’re a bit older). Definitely coming back. The canapes for the function were simple, but really tasty and fresh. Northcote certainly has a winner with this place!
Yumtastic cocktails but a bit pricey. The amaretto sour was it and a bit! We also had some canaps as we were there for bday drinks and surprisingly the chicken skewers were tasty and tender and so were mini meat pies! The staff were very friendly, and there’s a cute little outdoor courtyard deck area for warmer nights.
Love it!. Fantastic venue with good live music, delicious drinks, tasty food and friendly staff. What more could you want?!
The Purple Emerald is just what you’d expect to see in the heart of Northcote..quirky, retro, casual. Tapas and sangria were yummy, but missing some finesse in the service….side plates, grown-up cutlery and a cheerful smile would’ve made a big difference. We came on a Thurs night – fabulous band but not the right venue for a loud 5-piece…an unplugged muso might attract more customers. Overall, we enjoyed the evening.
Called in tonight for tapas and Sangria. Both of which were superb, could well be the best Sangria I’ve experienced and the tapas were fresh n tasty. Overall the Purple Emerald comes highly recommended and is a welcome addition to the culinary north.
Absolutely love the chicken skewers and arancini! Yum!! Good cocktails too
