When I read other people say that this place wasn’t very cozy, I scoffed and thought they were being picky, but having been here, I totally get it now. There was absolutely no ambience at.The place really feels unfinished, like someone had been excited about it once, but lost interest half way through, I mean I loved the heater and couches, but they got completely lost in that huge place.
Our entrees were underwhelming. The squid in particular was terrible, tasted frozen and reheated, there was no crunch or flavor at all and I had to ask for more lemon. I quite liked the polenta chips, although the bf did not, the truffle aioli was really truffly.
What salvaged it all for us was that steak! Goodness it was amazing, just amazing. I want all my steaks on a stone grill from now on! I might go so far as to say that this is one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. It was so juicy and had great marbling so it just melted in the mouth and for that price? How can you go wrong? The sauce was terrible though…how can you not have mushroom? Good thing the meat was good enough to hold its own. Potatoes were good but it needed more garlic, I think they should’ve thrown a few cloves on the grill for us along with a pinch of seasoning.
If we make the trip out again I would only get the steak!
