Whenever I visit Oakleigh I pop into this corner bakery located in the Oakleigh Market.
They’ve got a cold fridge area filled with desserts like vanilla slices, cannoli, puddings and cheesecakes, and ready made sandwiches and rolls. In the middle, there are stands filled with a variety of bread rolls. You select what you want and bring to the counter to pay. There are plastic containers for desserts.
At the counter, they have a mish mash of things like bread loaves, donuts, cheese sticks, pies, sausage rolls, spinach and feta pastry. I love their vanilla slice and spinach and feta pastry.
It’s very much a first to the front, first to get served type feel. Being too polite might find you at the back of the queue for some time before you get noticed.
