I went with my partner for a romantic dinner for his birthday and couldn’t have asked for a better restaurant. Thanks!
Eye fillet was perfect with a tangy peppercorn sauce. A slightly better choice of veggies and would have been a 10, but still one of the best I have ever had.
Kellys looks a big daggy but the food was delicious. The kangaroo was perfectly cooked, was very pleasantly surprised. There was live music when we were there which added a lovely atmosphere.
Ambience is fantastic, decor really sets the scene.
Service was fantastic.
Scotch steak with chips and salad cooked medium rare. Steak was over cooked and chips looked and tasted stale.
HOWEVER.
Eye fillet cooked to perfection. Mash was delicious with green beans and pumpkin. 4/5
Beer from Geelong with smooth finish was delicious
Chocolate fondant is a 5/5
Coffee was burnt the first time, we sent it back and second time too milky.
Overall a great experience. Highly recommended. Would definitely come back.
We stumbled across this on the way to the dandenongs for our sunday walk. This place has a lovely cosy, family-freindly pub atmosphere. It was very busy possibly abit understaffed. The blonde girl who looked after us was so nice. She said it was booked out but but we happily sat in the bar area with TV and log fire. Wagyu burger was so yum. It tasted home made with herbs in the patty. However the parma was disappointing. Processed chicken with sweet Napoli sauce, & sweaty salty ham. It could’ve been a frozen out of the box type parma. That aside we will be back for the burger, good service & atmosphere.
Kelly’s… What’s going on, buddy? One of my fave places in the Hills, mainly for the atmosphere and everyone’s favourite moustachioed bartender, but lately it’s slipped (not the bartender – he’s still great). They seem to be going through some major changes in the kitchen, but in the processhave completely butchered the menu, leaving a very limited selection of pricey, bog standard pub food. It’s a real shame – I’ve got food intolerance issues (shhhh… I don’t like to make a song and dance about it) and whereas before it was fairly easy to find something that would suit, now it’s super difficult. I’m hoping that this change to the menu is temporary, as I remember having some really tasty specials.Come back, Kelly’s! I miss you.
P.S – I’m pretty sure the menuon this website is waaaaay out of date. You’d be lucky to find half the amount of items on there now.
