We stopped in late one Sunday afternoon, wed had a late breakfast, skipped lunch and needed something to tide us over until dinner. My other half suggested a Devonshire tea up in the hills, who am I to say no?

We arrived reasonably late (around 4pm), still plenty of customers around. We were greeted warmly and sat down outside on the rear deck. A second waiter, who was quite young came to take our order. One of us wanted a hot chocolate instead of tea, he fumbled about explaining it would cost more for what seemed an eternity, ignoring the several prompts advising that we didnt really care about the extra cost. That aside, the service wasnt bad, we didnt have to wait long and when the waiter operating the till showed a genuine interest in us and engaged in conversation for a few minutes.

The scones themselves were 4/5, they lacked the X factor but werent bad. The jam was absolutely sensational, Ive been meaning to buy a bottle to take home (its sold at the counter) and the cream also good. Portion sizes for both the jam and cream were reasonably generous too.

last week we went to the dandenongs and stopped off at olinda for lunch. wandered into ranges. coffee was good. high chairs were dirty, lots of leaves on the floor and my husband’s water glass has lipstick on it. he had chicken parmesan. he said it was dry and probably been reheated. I had the pie off the specials board. it was ordinary at best. I don’t think we will be back.

Went here twice. The coffee is actually not too bad but not great. Had the pie which was OK. Second time was for breakfast, food was average at best. Overpriced for the quality of food

Ordered the fritas and Benedict. Service was prompt and food came out quickly! Food was delicious, but a bit expensive. Im not a local so Im not sure if thats standard for the area. Very happy with the coffee too! Bathrooms seemed a bit dirty and didnt have any hand soap.

Best waffles on the mountain by far, beautiful place for a coffee. Friendly staff and amazing service. Couldnt ask for more. And its cheap and affordable within the budgets of travel.

Hopeless service . A waste of time . Will never come here again. There is no staff to serve and they dont even know what food they have or have run out of

Almost didn’t go there because of the bad reviews but I am SO GLAD we did!! Service was amazing and food even better!! We had eggs florentine and the pumpkin bruschetta and they were both perfect. The milk shake was thick and ice cold. Had an amazing time that made our drive up the ranges totally worth its while. Thank you so much!
