Food was really tasty. We had a lovely young waitress serving our table. Unfortunately our experience was marred by an incredibly rude, inhospitable older lady- Im assuming the owner or manager. I felt uncomfortable watching her berate another staff member loudly, in front of all diners for simply trying to accommodate our group. She also told off my partner for holding the door open and letting out the warmth.
Stunning location, and could be amazing. Unfortunately the experience is tainted by the surly manager.
Amazing view. We went in Autumn and the changing colour of the trees was beautiful. Quite pricey. Small selection of cakes but nice. The highlight for me was the view!
Fantastic restaurant! The view was beautiful, looking out onto the gardens. The food was phenomenal -the pork belly dish in particular- served with potatoes and a delicious slaw and apple based sauce. The salad was also delicious, with pulled pork being the highlight. Highly recommend this restaurant for a quiet, relaxed lunch or afternoon tea (tea and scones are on the menu).
The view and the gardens were spectacular. The food was ordinary – not bad. We had the pork belly which was quite dry and very salty and the seafood pie. The seafood was chopped up (looked minced) quite finely in lots of creamy sauce not the chunky pieces of rockling, prawns and scallops….
Never knew this lovely restaurant set in this well stocked nursery was there in the hills. We rolled up this week for lunch and we all loved the food, not overly sauced, well presented, tasty dishes and all cooked to perfection! Will go again.
Waited 30 mins for our coffee and cake to arrive and when we asked what the delay was, we found out that our order was somehow lost and instead of apologizing, they were rude especially the short old lady who was being a smartass and had to contain myself from throwing her out of the balcony. Stay away from that place. Plenty of nicer places in Olinda.
We had to sit outside and therefore got bombarded by European Wasps. We then waited 70 minutes for our lunch to arrive. When we complained we were told ours was coming out. They then served 3 other tables that arrived after us. We decided to leave and when we went to pay for our coffees the staff gave us grief for leaving, saying they had to ditch our meals. We had ordered 2 Ploughman’s lunches and a tart. It does not take 70minutes to get those 3 meals ready. Plus being rude to us because we had had enough waiting and were hungry. Being rude to us was the unforgivable straw that broke the camel’s back. There are plenty of great places to eat in Olinda – eat there instead.
