Been here twice and both times I got a HSP with a mix of chicken and lamb and it was good. Both times there was a lot of sauce balanced out with a good amount of meat and chips. Only problem was that there was 85% lamb and 15% chicken.
Was having a Lazy evening and Ordered a Turkish Pide with Lamb&Mutton and a HSP with Mixed meat for delivery. Lets start with the positive, the ETA for delivery was 30 mins from the time of order (although the guy was 5 mins later than that) was still a very quick turnaround. The flavor of the meat was good and wasn’t too tough as some other places.
Moving on to the negatives 1. They DO NOT look at the comment section when you order online; i requested for both Chilli and Garlic Sauce on the HSP and chips to be extra crispy with extra chicken salt but none of the requests were catered to. I almost feel for the people who might have food allergies as the casual attitude shown by these people might cause some serious harm to someone who is allergic. In the end had to add Chilli sauce from the fridge and the chips were all soggy and not really what I was after. 2.The pide was a big let down as the outer bread was really hard and chewy and the meat inside was just spicy with no other flavor. 3. The HSP pack was meant to be mixed, but it was 95% Lamb and maybe 5% Chicken. Disappointing again.
In the end I feel it is a good place if you are after a Quick Late night snack and you don’t really care about the quality of food you receive.
P.S: Was hungry and started to eat before realizing to take the pics 🙂
Have been serveral times when we come back to Melbourne to have a kebab. Recently on our last trip over, we feel that the kebabs were lacking favour. I had the falafel and hubby had the lamb, both of use were disappointed.
Ther serve is large and they try and upsize you with deals to get drinks and chips added. The chips were tasty and cruchy.
Felt this last time it was just average.
Tried the HSP over here for a late Saturday lunch, have to say it did not disappoint, the mixed meat was perfect with the sauces and a good serving of chips, they are very generous with their servings.
I don’t even understand what I just got?! I bought a kebab and asked for Turkish bread, received a completely soggy pita bread wrap that was falling apart, brown soggy lettuce, really weird, chunky sauce and grey chicken?!?! The chips were completely hard and cold.
It’s literally the worst take away I’ve ever received.
I took one bite, spat it out, took some photos as proof and threw the whole thing out!
Absolute waste of my money, just disgusting!
Have only ever had delivery, lots of orders over the last few years, always great, recommend the Meat Lover’s Big Bowl. Dips are great. Excellent value for money and delicious.
On the positive sides- they are open at crazy hours of the night so you’re never going to go to bed hungry and the kebabs are pretty good.
Now in the negative sides
-It’s almost impossible to communicate with the staff. Not sure if that’s a language barrier thing or lack of trying on their behalf.
I once waited two hours for a delivery and have never waited shorted than an hour despite being told 20-30mins and I’m usually ravenous by the time the food is delivered. I actually stopped phone ordering for this reason and now usually just go down myself.
Basically I only use Sip n Bite as an absolute last resort now because I have had many bad experiences here. If it weren’t for their late night hours I wouldn’t have gone back at all.
