I have never heard of Steak Bank until my friend told me about them, and it was only then that I discovered that Steak Bank has quite the reputation amongst the locals as a friendly and unpretentious neighbourhood steak house.
From its name, it’s obvious that steak is their specialty, and my friend graciously took away a steak (eye fillet) for me to enjoy. The meat was juicy and tender, but due to how thick cut it was, some parts were a bit chewier than others. The natural rich flavours of the meat was evident, and there was no need for any sauce to jazz it up. It was cooked as per requested – medium rare, and while it wasn’t the most impressive steak, it was more than decent, and a big piece of steak to boot.
The side salad was made up of a fresh and colourful combination of veggies, but the dressing was slightly too zesty and overpowering.
As I didn’t had to pay, I shall not comment too much on the price, but FYI it is rather dear. Overall a pleasant and filling meal.
