Wow. What a terrible experience. We were a big group but we ordered promptly one after the other. Despite this, meals came out with an hour between first and last. Meals ranged from mediocre, to cold, to over cooked, to poorly described and all were over priced. When we discussed this with the wait staff, they responded by trying to explain to us why we were wrong, rather than listening and accepting our criticism. I think the main issue is there is just no interest in kitchen and wait staff to provide an enjoyable experience, they’re just trying to get some form of food onto tables and then to clear that food away again. One of my fellow diners even had her meal nearly swiped out from under her while she was trying to eat it! Unless I hear about major structural changes at this venue I will not be returning.
Came for dinner tonight on a whim, wasn’t disappointed. Given its a Friday night we walked straight in.
Ordered the ‘chicken delight’ from the specials menu and a medium rare porterhouse steak. Plus the garlic cheese bread for entree.
The food came out within a reasonable time frame, service was friendly with nil major issues.
Tiny negatives, the steak came out as rare not medium rare and we asked for no salad with the chicken, which was easily pushed to the side.
Would come back again, no problem. Food was also really reasonably priced.
We went there for dinner with 6 ppl. The food was pretty good although the service could have been a bit faster. That being said we quiet enjoyed the specials selection. Had some lovely food on it. Would def go there again.
Cold Chips, cold plate, cold meal… Eye Fillet. I ordered eye fillet & salad. Meal came out as eye fillet medallions which were broiled more than seared on a sizzling hot plate. Hollandaise sauce was cold & stiff like butter. Chips cold like they had been sitting on a baking tray for 10-15 mins before plated up. Waited just over 40 mins in sports bar for meals on a Thursday night. Also my partner had the porter house steak which was gristly. Used watery mushroom sauce too cover it up, again not grilled properly. Not cheap meals, cold plates & poorly cooked good cuts of meat with cold chips, seriously chefs you need too go back too school. Disappointing & won’t waste my money there again. At the end of the day you’ll cook better at home sorry too say it.
Chives Bistro, Cardinia Club Pakenham. The service at this place is described at best, abysmal. From the time you order your meal it takes some 50 minutes to get it (and that is at a time when they are not busy). if you order ice-cream for sweets you can bet your last dollar it will be melted by the time you get it. I and my friends will not be eating there again.
Not worth going back. We had Pork Belly only about 7 pieces of belly the size of a 10 cent piece and Vegies and Pear were Cold,
Also had Chicken Parma, the Parma was a Pass but the vegies and chips cold
One of my sons had Chips which were cold and very stingy on the sauce and my other son had the Garlic Prawns probably the best of the meals and would maybe try if I ever go back again!!
Think they might need anew Chef who can at least cook the basics properly of Chips and vegies or just not serve cold one to customers??
