The decor is a bit dated but fits in quiet well with what I expect of an Italian trattoria. The food is simple and delicious. It is wat I expect to be cooked by your nonna…and low and behold the kitchen is headed by one. The service is prompt and the prices extremely reasonable.
Good. Excellent real traditional italian food
So I had a coffee from the mama rosa coffee van at the pakenham market. It was literally the worst coffee that could possibly have been made.
Firstly the coffee wasn’t tampered at all before being extracted which in the end resulted in watery tasting coffee. Secondly I had asked for an extra shot in mine to make it stronger. She showed me the cup after pouring some of another shot into the take away cup, asking if there was enough coffee in there. That’s where I realised this lady had no clue on how to properly make a coffee.
After that I watching as she frothed the worst burnt milk ever and poured it into my flat white which was covered in giant bubbles. I then watched her make the next coffee into a cappuccino which instead of properly volumizing the milk she scooped and literally plonked spoonfuls of froth on top which was also burnt milk, thus resulting in the coffee looking like a volcano. I don’t complain about coffee because usually small mistakes dont result in coffee being un drinkable. This coffee was literally not able to be consumed. I just don’t see how putting someone into a coffee can who so evidently has no idea how to make coffee and what technique makes a good tasting coffee. So $3 whatever later and one sip taken, my coffee went into the nearest bin. What a waste. If you don’t understand coffee you shouldn’t be allowed to make it. Thanks to that I’ve discouraged many people from ever setting foot in your restaurant and I wouldn’t dream of even trying your food since if you can’t even make a simple cup of coffee I sincerely doubt you can step it up and cook tasty food. Astonishly disappointed.
Well I walked in not really expecting anything. After being told to sit anywhere and sitting at a table with a flower arrangement that had died a few years back we just knew that we wern’t going to be blown away. The pasta we ordered was beyond bland. The pasta was not home made and the avocado was old and had that old fridge taste to it. My pizza was tasteless and we had to eat it off the plates we ate the pasta on as the waitress was too lazy to change them for clean plates. For our drink we were offered a 1.25 bottle of coke which we poured ourselves at the table. This place is tired and well past it’s use by date and it just lucky that you can get a decent pizza elsewhere in town and a lot cheaper with more toppings. I won’t be back til they show a bit of passion in what they do. I have no doubt this was a great place at one time but that is well and truly in the past. Move on – Nothing to see here.
Ordered a take away pizza from this place and it was just plain awful. Smelled like sweaty gym socks too :-(( Best pizza joint in Pakenham is Masey’s
Service was friendly, however unprofessional and due to underage staff who were unable to serve alcohol it took forever to get a drink. Oysters were served while the waitress was actually talking on her mobile phone. Everyone on our table were dissatisfied with their meals, one steak was still cold.
Love the pasta here! Best pizza in Pakenham!!
