My husband and I dined at Alma’s Restaurant, Paynesville a few weeks ago and I thought the service was exceptional and the food great. Not enough people know about this restaurant and the chef accommodates different tastes. My husband had a steak and I had calamari on a bed of veges which was well worth the trip from Bairnsdale. Staff are always very well mannered, respectful and cater to your needs.

Amazing Devonshire Tea at Alma’s. The scone was light, crumbly and delicious. My long black was really smooth and all my friends thought their coffees were fantastic. Service was lovely and super quick. No complaints about Alma’s, except that it is not open often enough!
The girl who served us was very friendly and approachable. My partner and I ordered chicken parmigiana’s. I’m grateful that they were generous with the ham and cheese on top but it seemed like something I could make at home. I think the parmigiana missed the mark but it was okay. The ambience was good and we didn’t have to wait long for our food. Thank you!
The wait time for our food to arrive was too long. We went today (26/12/14) for a mid morning snack. I had the banana and maple syrup crepes and a flat white. Hubby had scones and coffee. 7yo had icecream and syrup. Scones were fresh out of the oven – I am told the scone was ‘lovely and fresh’. $5 for two scoops of icecream was a bit expensive, but 7yo enjoyed it. The crepes were nice. Worth a try if you are a lover of banana.
