The ambiance of this lovely establishment is quite tranquil and soothing. It’s located on the main stretch in Paynesville, surrounded by such beautiful views of the water. Service this morning wasn’t overly crowded so everything came out within a pretty reasonable time frame after placing the order. Staff were attentive and friendly. The coffee to my surprise was spectacular. Warm, rich and flavoursome made from top quality coffee beans!Menu has a wide range of dishes to suit everyone’s palate and theirs also meals for the young ones. After some considerable amount of thinking I decided to have the Eggs Atlantic with avocado and mushrooms. It presented well when it was placed in front of me, ingredients appeared to be well prepped and not just thrown on to the plate. Eggs were poached perfectly, sourdough bread was toasted just right. The downfalls for me was the mushrooms which weren’t flavoursome, they tasted like they had came out of the can. The other was the hollandaise sauce, it was excessively runny and didn’t deliver that buttery and lemon punch.Overall a pleasant experience at the Fig Cafe and would visit again if given the opportunity!
Great little cafe with water views.Plenty of tables inside and outside. All day breakfast is a winner. Lots of options for all types of palates. The avocado and feta smash is great. Kids options include pancakes and milk shakes.Coffee was ok. Grab a double shot if you like it strong.Staff are friendly.
The Fig Cafe has great ambiance and seating options outdoors, on the patio or in the air-conditioned indoors. Coming in for a late lunch in the mid afternoon, it was easy enough to find a seat amidst others having scones and coffees. After a 40 min wait, our food arrived, entrees and mains together. They were the embodiment of mediocrity. The creamy garlic prawns were under-salted and under-flavoured. The steak sandwich was served with approximately 9 pieces of chips and it’s taste was overwhelmed by the volume of beetroot relish in it. That said, this seems like a nice enough place for an afternoon tea with a book.
We enjoyed a very nice breakfast followed by equally nice coffee. We both had the Big Breakfast that comes with lashings of bacon, good mushrooms, tasty tomatoes, a crisp hash brown and two eggs on beautifully toasted sour dough bread.
