Food was bad lots and lots of msg Avoid this restaurant at all costs
I went there with my two small kids. No one in the restaurant and they won’t let me and my kids use the booth. They put us in a small table. Then, they serve use bad! Burned fries rice that we could smell and taste the burned rice from steaming before frying it. In short, they served us an old rice! Very bad quality food! Rude staff and owner! I wouldn’t suggest going there because your craving for Chinese food would be disappointing!
Food is rubbish. The plumb sauce on the pork and plumb sauce is like somebody put a hint of plumb in a vat of maple syrip, let it sit for a year or two then served it.
When I commented on it I was made to feel like an idiot by the lady at the counter, whom I believe is the owner, and told that was how it is always served. I know that’s not true as its my favorite dish.
The one time I got delivery, it was late, cold and they forgot the drink.
Never again. Don’t make my mistake.
Sometimes the customer is right. I’ve ordered their food online for about a year- their food isn’t bad nor is it the best however when you’re feeling particularly lazy the fact they deliver is greatly appreciated. I’ve had a couple of mishaps with them not delivering something I’ve ordered- was yelled at quite rudely saying i didn’t order it but finally relented and said they’d add it extra to the next order.
However this Mother’s Day was the first time we actually decided to eat in. My mother said she had some amazing flounder and the crispiest roast duck there and that she preferred to eat locally than travel to Footscray/Richmond.
The serving sizes in the restaurant compared to the take out was remarkable- it looked like they halved the sizes! The special fried rice was so small we had to order a second round- which would not be such a big deal if the special combination noodles we had actually contained more than a handful of noodles. We left the place hungry (we ordered other things but they were to accompany the rice- the meagrely meagre rice).
The event that made me hate this place? The damned duck. My mother and father raved about the crispy skin and my parents aren’t some uneducated fools when it comes to good food and food duck- the skin was soggy. I mean- soggy. However when my mother asked for it to be replaced (the waitress was lovely and came back with a slightly crispier version a few minutes later) one of the managers came up to our table and VERY rudely said that NO ONE ANYWHERE could make crispy skin duck. My mother was abashed, she reminded them the reason they came back here is because THEY made crispy skin roast duck. They vehemently said no they didn’t even though my mother said she ate it there. They proceeded to keep walking past our table and glaring at is from afar. If the man continued for any longer (it was about 7 minutes) my husband and I were about to call him over and public ally humiliate the bastard.
So he besmirched my Mother’s Day and made her seem like a fool to save face in front of his customers- which by the way did not care- he made us feel uneasy and unwelcome thereafter.
Again the servers were lovely had two beautiful waiters who were quick and friendly- it was the management/owner that let the team down.
Will never frequent this place again- not online and definitely not in person. I value good food but I value quality service better. Don’t waste your time, go out and try a different restaurant!
Great food and service. Regular customer of Jade Stream for over 10 years. Quality of food never disappoints. Service always polite and friendly with Tony and Lily great hosts. Very pleasant atmosphere at this restaurant. Reasonably priced with great parking for customers.

Worst Chinese in aus – you idiot. I have been going to jade stream for years . I can honestly say that I have rarely been disappointed .
The service I have found great , the food superb .
